Greg Westlake notched a hat trick and added two assists and Marc Dorion scored three goals of his own as Canada clinched a semifinal spot with a rout of the Italians. Brad Bowden added two goals and two helpers.

 

CANADA 4 – ITALY 0
PRELIMINARY | SAT. MAR. 13

Greg Westlake scored twice in four minutes to break open a tight game in the third period and Canadian flagbearer Jean Labonté added a goal and an assist as Canada opened the Paralympics by blanking the Italians.
