SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED FOR 2010 4 NATIONS
CUP IN ST. JOHN’S, N.L.

ST. JOHN’S, N.L. – Hockey Canada announced on Thursday the game schedule for the 2010 4 Nations Cup, set for November 9-13 at Mile One Centre in St. John’s and the Clarenville Events Centre in Clarenville, N.L.

The tournament will bring together the top four women’s hockey nations in the world – Canada, Finland, Sweden and the United States – for the first time since the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, B.C. The four countries competing at the 2010 4 Nations Cup finished as the top four in Vancouver, led by the gold medal-winning Canadian team.

The 2010 4 Nations Cup will include eight games; six at Mile One Centre in St. John’s, including the gold medal and bronze medal games on November 13, and two – including Canada vs. Sweden on November 10 – at the Clarenville Events Centre.

“Following the discussions that went on this morning at the Molson Canadian World Hockey Summit, we are excited about the future of women’s hockey,” said Bob Nicholson, president and CEO of Hockey Canada. “Fans in St John’s are in for a treat when the best women’s hockey players in the world gather for the 2010 4 Nations Cup and begin the road to Sochi 2014.”

“Millions of Canadians watched the women’s hockey tournament at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, and we are thrilled to have many of those same players coming to St. John’s for the 2010 4 Nations Cup,” said Gerry Evans, president of Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador. “This will be a terrific event to have as part of Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador’s 75th anniversary celebrations.”

The gold medal game of the 2010 4 Nations Cup will be broadcast on TSN/RDS, the official broadcasters of Hockey Canada on Saturday, November 13. Check your local listings for broadcast times in your area. Games throughout the week will be available via webcast at  hockeycanada.fasthockey.com, on a pay-per-view basis for $6.95 per game.

For just $75, fans can check out all six games from Mile One Centre in St. John’s, including the Olympic gold medal game rematch between Canada and the United States on November 9. Ticket packages can be purchased at the Mile One Centre box office, by calling 709-576-7657 or 1-800-361-4595, or by visiting  www.admission.com.

A two-game ticket package for the games in Clarenville will be available beginning Friday, September 10 for $35 (plus service fees). Ticket packages can be purchased from the Clarenville Events Centre box office, or by calling 709-466-4105 ex. 222.
